Blog Journal 3

  • Although technology can be extremely useful in a classroom, it may bring up some issues as well. One issue for example, is cyberbullying. In my classroom, I will do my best to prevent cyberbullying by making the classroom a no phones zone. Phones must stay put away in the student's backpack throughout the class, and if I see a phone, I will confiscate it for the remainder of class. Also, I will inform the class on cyberbullying to prevent them from being involved in it. If I hear about any form of cyberbullying or a student reports cyberbullying, I will schedule a meeting with the student and their parents to address this issue. If it continues, I will report it to the school's principal.
  • Before this class, I have briefly learned about copyright and fair use. I was only taught, though, how to avoid it. After this class, I now know how to utilize other's work fairly and include it in my work by giving proper credits to the work I use. As a teacher, I will include credits at the bottom of the pages I post as well as ensure to include the credits of things I use from others in my work. I still need to work on finding credits of sources that are not on the Creative Commons sites.
  • Completing this Newsletter Assignment I learned several skills with Microsoft Word especially. I learned how to make columns, insert Canva images, make a permission slip, and so much more. For my future Newsletters, I could improve on different creative design ideas for the theme and layout. As a teacher, these skills will definitely be helpful in the future for sending Newsletter and other important papers or flyers home with students.
